WB YEATS EN

Following the mystery,

trapped in the magic

William Butler Yeats 1865-1939

What they undertook to do
They brought to pass;
All things hang like a drop of dew
Upon a blade of grass.

Yeats

Yeats' professional life was based on the perfection of the art of poetry. It was intertwined with the study and practice of magic, not at all in a metaphorical sense, but with the real search for supernatural powers based on the ancient traditions of alchemy and necromancy, which began in his youth and persisted until the end of his long life. It was known that he was part of a sect. His beliefs were particularly deep enough to assert that: “the pen with which I write is guided by a supernatural essence.”
